Ethan Mudd, 11, walks the coast of Cornwall to honor his grandad and raise funds for hospice care
Ethan’s grandad was diagnosed in May 2024. Sadly, he passed away just 12 weeks later. The cancer spread quickly, and he didn’t get the chance for treatments like chemotherapy. His family was by his side at St Julia’s Hospice when he passed.
Ethan’s family can’t thank the hospice enough. They say the care was incredible. Ethan’s mum, Cat, shared how much the hospice meant to them. She said it was a place of compassion and support.
Ethan has always been active in fundraising. He started at just seven years old. He’s done several Race for Life events, even dressed as Spider-Man once! After his grandad’s diagnosis, he decided to focus his efforts on raising money for the hospice.
Now, Ethan has set a big goal. He wants to walk the entire coast of Cornwall and raise £2,000. His nan, Sue, is helping him by driving him to each starting point. This weekend, he’ll walk from Cape Cornwall to Pendeen Watch.
Ethan invites everyone to join him on this journey. It’s a great way to support him and the hospice. Cat has even created a Facebook page to keep everyone updated on their progress. It’s a heartwarming story of love and determination.
