Cornwall: The Met Office is sounding the alarm again. They’ve issued new weather warnings as Storm Éowyn approaches. This storm is expected to bring some serious weather to the South West.

Starting Thursday morning, a yellow wind warning kicks in. They’re predicting gusts up to 60mph, especially along the coast and in the hills. This warning lasts all day until 6pm.

Heavy rain is also on the way. The Met Office says we’ll see a band of rain moving through, bringing strong winds for about four to five hours. The worst winds will hit exposed areas.

Then on Friday, things could get even rougher. Storm Éowyn might bring winds up to 80mph in some spots, plus heavy rainfall. They’re talking about 60mm of rain in places!

They’re warning that this could lead to surface water flooding. So, it’s best to stay alert and be prepared for some disruptions.

Travel could be tricky too. Some bus and train services might face delays, and there’s a chance of power outages. High-sided vehicles should be cautious on exposed routes.

Mike Silverstone from the Met Office said this storm could cause some real issues, especially in Northern Ireland and parts of northern England. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast as things develop.
