Cornwall: The Met Office has put out a yellow weather warning for the South West. Storm Eowyn is on its way, and it could cause quite a bit of trouble.

This warning is active from midnight until late Friday night. They’re saying we might see some serious wind disruption. So, it’s best to be prepared.

Forecasters are concerned about potential damage. They think tiles could fly off roofs, and power cuts might happen. Even phone service could be affected.

Winds will start from the southeast and switch to the west. Some areas could see winds hitting 60mph, with coastal gusts reaching 70mph. That’s pretty wild!

Travel could be a hassle too. Roads, rail, air, and ferry services might face delays. Some roads and high bridges could even close.

There’s also a risk of injuries from flying debris. Large waves could crash onto coastal roads and properties, so stay safe out there!

Today’s weather is chilly, with some frost in rural areas. Expect a dry day with some sunshine later, but it’ll feel cool, especially in the shade.

Tonight, clouds will roll in, and hill fog will return. Scattered showers will linger along the south coast, moving slowly north. The temperature will drop to around 3 °C.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, showers will clear out, leaving a cloudy day. The best chance for brightness will be in the west, but it’ll still feel cool.

From Thursday to Saturday, it’s going to get wet and windy. Heavy rain will spread east, followed by blustery showers. But don’t worry, there will be some brighter moments too!
