Helston: A man was rescued from a house fire last night. He suffered burns to his hands. Fire crews were called to Wendron Road around 8:45 PM after someone reported the fire.

Firefighters quickly arrived and rescued the man. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The fire was put out, and checks were made on nearby homes for safety.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue said they received the call at 8:43 PM. Two fire engines and a station manager were sent to the scene. Fire crews used breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras to enter the building.

Another fire engine was called in for support. The man was given first aid and taken to the hospital by family members. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters checked other buildings and advised neighbors. The police are now investigating the incident.
