Launceston: A major auction is happening soon. It features silver designed by Michael Allen Bolton, a talented Cornwall-based designer. Woolley & Wallis auctioneers will host this event.
Bolton created stunning pieces for famous clients like Dame Judi Dench and Stanley Kubrick. His work was inspired by ancient silver and the arts and crafts movement.
While we can’t share specific celebrity commissions, Bolton designed silver for the film “The Madness of King George.” He also crafted a large font for a church in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Bolton viewed his silver work as a part of himself. Woolley & Wallis highlights his passion, which shines through in every piece he created. He was based in Launceston and loved mentoring young designers.
Completely self-taught, Bolton developed a unique style influenced by Celtic and Roman metalwork. He worked with various clients, including churches and schools, showcasing his skills.
