Coventry: Police found human remains belonging to Stefan Watkins. They discovered them in Charterhouse Fields during searches over the weekend.
Stefan, a dad from Warwick, went missing in May 2023. Police have been searching for him for nearly two years. They confirmed the remains were found on February 1.
Before he disappeared, there were reports of Stefan being seen at Vauxhall Street and Berry Street in Hillfields. This sighting was crucial for the investigation.
Officers searched extensively in Coventry and found the remains behind Blue Coat School. The remains are now with forensics for a post-mortem examination.
While identification is pending, Stefan’s family has been notified. Police are still investigating and encourage anyone with information to call 101.
People can also share information anonymously with Crimestoppers. A 45-year-old woman from Warwick was arrested in connection with the case but has since been released on bail.
Warwickshire Police stated that the remains were found in an area of Coventry and will undergo further examination.
