A gang may be behind a series of late-night shop break-ins in Cornwall, raising concerns among local residents and police.
St Austell: There’s been a string of break-ins lately, and it looks like the same gang might be behind them. The police are on it, checking out links between these late-night raids.
Recently, three masked guys broke into a Texaco station in St Austell. They smashed in and made off with a ton of tobacco, cigarettes, and vape fluid. They even grabbed some cash before disappearing.
This isn’t the first time, either. Just a few weeks ago, there was an attempted break-in at a Spar in Newquay. Then, on January 5, two suspects broke into another Spar and stole cigarettes.
Police also got called to a filling station near St Columb Major after a burglary. Two suspects forced their way in and took off with cigarettes, tobacco, and alcohol. It’s all a bit worrying.
A police spokesperson said they’re looking into the Texaco incident and trying to connect the dots with other break-ins. They’re asking locals to check their CCTV for any footage that might help.
If you have any info, the police want to hear from you. You can report it online or call 101 with the crime number. Every little bit helps!
