In Cornwall, eight bodies have been found in two months, raising concerns. Emergency services responded to multiple incidents, with several deaths deemed non-suspicious.
Recently, a man’s body was found at Par Harbour. Emergency services, including a coastguard helicopter, arrived around 8 am on January 30. Sadly, he was confirmed dead at the scene. Authorities say his death is not suspicious, and they will prepare a report for the coroner.
Another body was discovered on Downderry Beach on January 18. The person’s identity is still unknown, and efforts are underway to contact their next of kin. This death is considered “unexplained” but not suspicious.
On January 16, the body of a missing man from Mousehole was found near Land’s End. Julio Trujillo, 55, had been missing for six days. His family has been informed, and formal identification is pending.
Earlier, on January 11, a woman named Julie Marie King, 59, was found dead at Charlestown Harbour. Her death is also not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be sent to the coroner.
Additionally, John Trevena, a 50-year-old from Looe, was found dead in West Looe Cemetery on January 4.
Emergency services were called to Great Western Beach in Newquay on December 13, 2024, where a man’s body was discovered. He was confirmed dead at the scene and has since been identified.
On December 2, 2024, a man’s body was found on the coastline in St Agnes. The family of Max Brooks, a 23-year-old from Hayle, has been notified and is receiving support.
Lastly, a diver who went missing near St Anthony Head was found 11 weeks later. On December 8, 2024, a body was discovered on Portholland Beach and identified as Andrew McKnight, 76, from St Austell.
