A Coventry man has been sentenced for stealing over £8,000 in tech from a school, causing major disruption to students and staff.
Police looked through tons of CCTV footage to catch him. They found he had stolen six laptops, three iPads, and a machine for checking electrics.
The police said his actions really disrupted the education of local kids. Reid pleaded guilty to burglary and other charges in December 2024.
He got 32 months in jail at Warwick Crown Court on January 16. Plus, he received a Criminal Behaviour Order. This order keeps him 50 meters away from any school in England and Wales until 2029.
A police spokesperson praised the hard work of local officers in catching him. They reminded everyone to be cautious about buying electronics from strangers. If someone offers you a deal that seems too good to be true, it probably is.
