Coventry’s Gallagher Retail Park is revamping its car park to add electric vehicle charging spaces, making it more convenient for eco-conscious drivers.
They got the green light last November. Now, they want to shift the location of four charging spaces. This means they’ll need to reconfigure the car park a bit.
They plan to add some new features too. There will be four upstands, a feeder pillar, a lighting column, and eight bollards. Plus, they’ll do some landscaping to spruce things up.
According to the planning application, six existing parking spaces will be converted into four EV charging bays. So, they’ll lose two parking spots overall.
But don’t worry! The retail park has plenty of parking. They have hundreds of spaces available. So, losing two spots won’t really be a big deal.
The city council is looking at the plan now. They don’t expect any parking issues in nearby residential areas. It’s all about making it easier for electric vehicle drivers while keeping things smooth for everyone else.
