Coventry: A family is heartbroken today. Their son, Keaton, would have turned 13. He was killed in a hit-and-run last year. The driver is still not caught.

Keaton was walking home from school when a BMW hit him. It happened on Radford Road on June 14, 2024. He suffered severe injuries and sadly passed away.

Today should have been a happy day. Instead, his parents, Louise and Clint Slater, feel empty. They miss the joy of watching their son grow up.

Louise shared that Keaton would have been excited today. But now, it’s just quiet. She said, “There are no cards or presents. It just feels empty.”

They had plans for a birthday party this year. Clint said they would have taken him out with friends. But now, they can’t celebrate like they used to.

Christmas was tough too. Clint mentioned their family traditions felt different without Keaton. They missed playing games together.

To honor Keaton, they plan to light 13 fireworks tonight. They also placed balloons at the spot where he was tragically killed.

Police are still searching for the suspect, Dolars Aleksanders. He is wanted in connection with the hit-and-run. They are working to extradite him from Latvia.

West Midlands Police assured the family they are committed to finding justice for Keaton. They continue to investigate and gather evidence for the case.
