Coventry: A weather bomb is about to hit. We’re talking heavy rain and winds reaching 49mph. This storm is expected to roll in on Friday morning.

It all starts over the Atlantic, where pressure drops quickly. This creates strong winds that can really mess things up. The Met Office has warned us to brace for a stormy spell.

They say this could be the strongest winds we’ve seen this winter. Initially, they predicted 46mph, but now it’s bumped up to 49mph. That’s set to kick in around 6am on Friday.

Along with the winds, expect persistent heavy rain starting Thursday. So, if you have plans, you might want to rethink them.

Today, we’ll see some mist and fog, but it should clear up. It’ll be cloudy with a chance of light rain in the north. The high will be around 5C.

Tonight, more clouds and light rain will move in. Most places will stay frost-free, with a low of 1C.

Wednesday looks cloudy too, with patchy rain clearing out. It’ll feel cool under those grey skies.

Looking ahead to Thursday and Saturday, it’s going to get wet and windy. Heavy rain will spread east, followed by blustery showers on Saturday. But hey, there might be some bright spots too!
